Alice Mae (Ray) Poteet

Alice Mae Poteet, age 74, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Sunday, May 22, 2016 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Ms. Poteet, the daughter of G.B. "Pops" and Dorothy "Moms" Helen Coulson Ray, was born Feb. 10, 1942 in Canalou, Mo. She attended Fellowship General Baptist Church. During her earlier years Mrs. Poteet worked at Kneibert Clinic and later for Guy Whitworth at Whitworth's Jewelry. She loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren, her friends and enjoyed watching horse racing,


Survivors include her daughter, Pam Poteet of Bentonville, Ark. and Ken Poteet of St. Louis, Mo.; her mother, Dorothy Ray of Poplar Bluff; three grandchildren, McLane (Morgan) Poteet and Corey (Lindsey) Poteet of St. Louis, Mo. and Alli Poteet of Poplar Bluff; and a brother, Bill (Bonnie) Ray of Poplar Bluff.

Ms. Poteet was preceded in death by her father, G.B. "Pops" Ray and a sister, Francie Black.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 24th at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. A graveside service and burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Ash Hill Cemetery near Fisk with Rev. Byron Beck officiating.
