Alice M. Nickless Tucker

Alice Nickless Tucker, 108 years old, died Nov. 27, 2016 at Crystal Oaks Care Center in Crystal City, Mo.

Alice, the daughter of the late Roy and Nola (Walton) Wilson, was born in Qulin, Mo., on Jan. 20, 1908 and had lived in Poplar Bluff, Mo., most of her life. She had been a member of Second Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff since she was 13 years old. Alice graduated from Poplar Bluff High School in 1926.

She married Cloyd S. Nickless on Sept. 5, 1926. He preceded her in death in 1994. In 1995, she married Obal A. Tucker who preceded her in death on April 18, 2000. After his death she moved to Festus, Mo. to be closer to her family. Alice enjoyed spending time with her family, playing the piano, singing in the choir, fishing and playing board games.

Survivors include a son, Cloyd E. (Doran) Nickless of Pevely, Mo.; five grandsons, Mark E. (Laurie) Nickless of DeSoto, Mo., Cloyd E. (Yvonne) Nickless of Festus, Mo., Kenneth L. Nickless of St. Louis, Mo., L. Brent (Cheryl) Nickless of Pevely, Mo. and P. Keith (Paula) Nickless of Festus, Mo; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter.

Alice was also preceded in death by one grandchild, R. Douglas Nickless and three sisters, Ruby Dinwiddie, Fern Salee and Opal Boyer.

Visitation will begin at noon Friday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff with the funeral service following at 1 p.m. The Rev. John Collins will officiate. Burial will immediately follow at Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
