Alma Jean (Wooten) Gulledge

Alma Jean Gulledge, 89, of Poplar Bluff, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015 at The Manor in Poplar Bluff.

Mrs. Gulledge, daughter of the late George and Beulah Sanders Wooten, was born June 3, 1926 in Butler County. She was of the Baptist faith and was a homemaker. Mrs. Gulledge had formerly worked at the Holiday Inn as a housekeeper. She enjoyed spending time with her family, helping others and baking pies.

On Feb. 21, 1946, she married Eugene Gulledge in St. Louis. He preceded her in death in 1975.

Survivors include two daughters: Emily St. Cin and Marsha (Richard) Champ; ten grandchildren: Lisa Woodham, Kim Wilson, Keith Wilson, Chris Champ, Carla Hefner, Janie Hefner, Carrie Champ-Stidham, John Stidham, Amy Gulledge and Jenny Gulledge; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Mary Temple all of Poplar Bluff.

Two sons, Gary Gulledge and Terry Gulledge, three sisters, Geraldine Carpenter, Marie Winder and Laura M. Barnhill, and a brother, Jess Wooten also preceded her in death.

Visitation will begin at noon Thursday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel with a graveside service following at 1 p.m. at the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery. The Rev. Dennis Ward will officiate.
