Alma Earline (Pike) Weaver

Alma Earline Weaver, 88, of Wappapello, Mo., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2015 at Mark Twain Caring Center in Poplar Bluff.

Mrs. Weaver, the daughter of the late Roland and Bessie (Northcutt) Pike was born Dec. 31, 1926 in Steele, Mo. She was a homemaker and a talented seamstress. During her earlier years, Mrs. Weaver was one of the first female "Rosie the Riveter" women's war workers during the Korean War. For many years she was a very active member and former President with the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge 4066 at Wappapello. Mrs. Weaver enjoyed traveling, being independent and staying active in the Eagle Lodge's activities.

On Aug. 28, 1943, she married Andrew Thurston Weaver in Blytheville, Ark. He preceded her in death on Aug. 29, 1980.

Survivors include her children: Judy (Joe) Pickney of Springboro, Ohio and Gary W. (Debra) Weaver of Austin, Texas; a very special friend of many years, Walter Butler of Bloomfield, Mo.; five grandsons; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Charlene Bruckner of Wentzville, Mo.

A Celebration of Life will begin at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 4th at the Wappapello Cotrell Funeral Chapel.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Wappapello Eagle Children's Fund, 9103 Hwy T, Wappapello, MO 63966.
