Anna Lucille Brannan

Anna Lucille Brannan, 91, of Poplar Bluff died Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2010 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Brannan was born Jan. 2, 1919 in Charleston, Mo. She was a member of First General Baptist Church, where she was a former Sunday School Teacher, and was a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her family and flower gardening.

On June 15, 1941 she married Homer F. Brannan in Poplar Bluff. He preceded her in death on May 31, 2005.

Survivors include two daughters, Jo Ann Shields and husband James of Poplar Bluff and Janet Lynn Smith of Fenton, Mo.; a daughter-in-law, Leslie Holt of Kennett, Mo.; five grandchildren, James Shields III and wife Tammy, Terry Shields and wife Connie, Tammy Jo Shields, Chris Brannan and wife Audrey and Marlene Brannan; and three great-grandchildren, James Shields IV, Kendra Shields and Emma Brannan.

Her parents, Alvis Boyd and Anna Schafer Cox, son, Larry Paul Brannan, great-grandson, Joshua Tyler and brothers, Raleigh Cox, George Cox, Allen Cox and Paul Cox also preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Chapel with Dr. Dick Murray officiating. Burial will be at the City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
