Anna M. (Evans) Cato

April 25, 1926 — April 11, 2013

Anna Mae Cato, 86, of Poplar Bluff, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2013 at The Manor in Poplar Bluff.

Mrs. Cato was born April 25, 1926 in Bradenton, Fla. She was of the General Baptist faith, and had retired from Smiley Container Co. Mrs. Cato enjoyed spending time with her family.

On Oct. 3, 1942, she married James A. Cato in Malden. He preceded her in death in 2006.

Survivors include her son, Randal Cato (Susan), of Poplar Bluff; grandchildren: Bryan, Rebecca and Mark Cato, Laura Hufty, Stacey Evans and Stephanie Knight; great-grandchildren: Millie, Isaac and Audrey Cato, Caleb and Dalton Teague, Trevor Knight, Morgan Pyle, Noland Raglow, Isabella and Alexandra Hufty, and Breanna and Brittany Evans; and sisters: Dorothy Taylor, of Rogers, Ark., and Pauline Tripp (Garland), of Kansas City, Mo.

Her parents, and daughter, Brenda Pyle also preceded Mrs. Cato in death.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Monday in the funeral chapel with Rev. Rick White officiating. Burial will be at the City Cemetery.
