April Andrea (Yancey) Lyons

April Andrea Lyons, 44, of Poplar Bluff, passed away, Monday, Feb. 4, 2013 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Lyons was born April 25, 1968 in Elgin, IL. She was a member of Living Word Baptist Church, and had worked for the Missouri Division of Probation and Parole in Poplar Bluff. In 2010, Mrs. Lyons received the Probation and Parole Division III Support Staff Member of the Year Award, and, in 2011, the Employee of the Year Award. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandson, shopping, motorcycles, and shooting sports.

On May 19, 2009, she married Dennis Lyons in Poplar Bluff. He survives.

Other survivors include three children, Kirsten Sierra Pennington and David Scott Pennington, of the home, and Tara Renee Pennington of Poplar Bluff; a stepson, Greg Lyons, of Ruston, LA; her parents, Jim and Ruth (Close) Yancey, of Poplar Bluff; a grandson, Draedyn Tyler Cannon; and two brothers, Jim Yancey, of Dayton, OH, and Kevin Yancey, of Fulton, MO.

The family will gather and visit with family and friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Living Word Baptist Church. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Church with Rev. Donnie Emmons officiating.
