Arlene M. Schimweg, 75, of Poplar Bluff died Monday, Feb. 13, 2012 at Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Mrs. Schimweg was born Sept. 27, 1936 in St. Louis, Mo. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Schimweg enjoyed spending time with her family, crocheting and reading.
On May 14, 1962, she married Robert C. ""Bob"" Schimweg in St. Louis, Mo. He survives.
Other survivors include three children: Nancy Reich and Robert T. Schimweg and wife Carrie all of Poplar Bluff and Sandra Skyles and husband Michael of Memphis, Tenn.; seven grandchildren: Dannelle Gettings and husband David of Doniphan, Mo., China Reich and Molly Reich both of Poplar Bluff, Brandi Schimweg and Becky Schimweg both of Farmington, Mo. and Jack Skyles and Sam Skyles both of Memphis, Tenn.; and five great-grandchildren: John Gettings, Eric Gettings, Seth Gettings, Triston Gettings and Jeffery Simpson.
Her parents, Gus and Minnie (Ehlert) Rogers and a daughter, Barbara Goodwin preceded Mrs. Schimweg in death.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Calvin Buhler officiating.
