Arthur Joseph "Joe" Gunn, Jr., 65, of Poplar Bluff, and a former resident of Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015 at Westwood Hills Healthcare Center in Poplar Bluff.
Mr. Gunn, son of the late Arthur J. Sr. and Edna L. Boyer Gunn, was born Aug. 12, 1950 in Poplar Bluff. He was a graduate of Poplar Bluff High School and had worked as a water plant operator in Arkansas and Missouri. Mr. Gunn was also a former Arkansas police officer. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marines. Mr. Gunn was a member of the V.F.W. Post 6477, the American Legion Post 153 in Poplar Bluff and the Masonic Lodge in Pocahontas, Ark. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, playing pool and collecting knives, arrowheads and guns.
Survivors include two sons: Corey Gunn of Poplar Bluff and Matt (Skye) Gunn of Casselberry, Fla.; three grandchildren: Travis Gunn of Central Florida and Gavin Gunn and Garrett Gunn of Walnut Ridge, Ark.; a brother, Mike (Pauline) Gunn of Fresno, Calif.; a friend and caregiver, Katina Humphrey of Poplar Bluff; a life-long friend, Eddy Martin of Poplar Bluff; and a host of other friends and relatives.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
