Arvil Dale Killian, 70, of Poplar Bluff, died Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at Springfield Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Springfield.
Mr. Killian was born May 28, 1945 in Poplar Bluff to Ellen Stout Killian and the late James Arvil Killian. He was a graduate of Poplar Bluff High School and Three Rivers College, where he received an Associate of Arts Degree. Mr. Killian proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era, and had previously worked in road construction and at Sears Youth Center. Mr. Killian enjoyed spending time with his family, drawing, arts, oil painting and making bird houses and small crafts, which he loved to give away.
Survivors include two children: Chad Killian and Cassie (Brad) Okerstrom all of Springfield; his mother, Ellen Killian of Poplar Bluff; two grandchildren: Trevor Daniels and Leyton Okerstrom; two sisters: Barbara (Don) Worley and Renie Osborn all of Poplar Bluff; and a brother, Don (Sally) Killian of Lake of the Ozarks.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will begin at 12 noon Friday in the funeral chapel with Rev. Vernon Kneir officiating and Rev. Brian Sharp assisting. Burial with full military honors will follow at 2 p.m. at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
