Barbara Ann (Stewart) Baggett

March 2, 1931 — February 10, 2016

Barbara Ann Baggett, 84, of Columbia, Mo., formerly of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2016 at Lenoir Woods in Columbia.

Mrs. Baggett, the daughter of the late Marcus and Ruth Miller Stewart, was born March 2, 1931 in Old Greenville, Mo. She was a graduate of Blytheville High School Class of 1949 in Blytheville, Ark. and later attended Southwest Baptist College in Bolivar, Mo. Mrs. Baggett was a member of the First Baptist Church of Poplar Bluff and had retired from Three Rivers College. She enjoyed spending time with and cooking for her family and friends and will be remembered for her wonderful fried pies.

On Aug. 6, 1960, she married Thomas A Baggett in Fornfelt, Mo. He preceded her in death on Dec. 6, 2015.

Survivors include two sons: Thomas A. Baggett, Jr. and his wife Patricia of Irving, Texas and Dennis Baggett and wife, Jennifer of Columbia; four grandchildren: Megan Baggett, Madeline Baggett, Emma Baggett and Woodley Baggett; one great-grandchild, Trysten Marie Moore; and two brothers: John Mark Stewart of Sanger, Tx. and Joseph Stewart of Sarasota, Fla.

Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff, with the funeral service following at 2:00 p.m. Dr. William Vail will officiate. Interment will be in the Woodlawn section of Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
