Barbara Jean Jackson

Barbara J. Jackson, 73, of Broseley, Mo., passed away Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Ms. Jackson, the daughter of the late George and Ella Mae Arington Blufoes, was born Dec. 21, 1942 in Poplar Bluff. She was a member of New Home Missionary Baptist Church, where she was an active member of the Mother Board as well as president of the WMU. She was a graduate of Poplar Bluff High School class of 1961, attended Gradwohl School of Laboratory of St. Louis in 1977 and received her AA from Three Rivers Community College in 1978. Ms. Jackson retired after many years as a Laboratory Technician for Tinsley Medical Clinic. She enjoyed spending time with her family and watching westerns movies. Her most cherished times were praising her Lord and working in her church.

Ms. Jackson is survived by three children: Ella (Sonny) Jackson, Ameila (Dove) Neal and Elizabeth (William) Anderson of Poplar Bluff; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Angelea Overton of Broseley.

A sister, Joyce Hamber and two great grandchildren preceded Ms. Jackson in death.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at New Home Missionary Baptist Church in Broseley with the funeral service following at 1 p.m. Rev. Allen Williams will officiate. Burial will take place in the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
