Berneice Schuerenberg

Berneice Schuerenberg, 93, of Sikeston, Mo., passed away Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Schuerenberg, the daughter of the late Roy and Mary Zofe Chaney, was born April 5, 1924 in Sikeston. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Dexter, and had retired after many years as a bookkeeper with the John Deere Dealership in Sikeston. Mrs. Schuerenberg enjoyed spending time with her family, her church, flower gardening and bird watching.

On Dec. 31, 1944, she married the love of her life, Paul Mitchell Schuerenberg in Sikeston. He preceded her in death on Jan. 11, 2012.

Survivors include two children, Paul M. Schuerenberg, Jr. and his wife Denise of Poplar Bluff and Mary Elizabeth Vandiver of Bloomfield; four grandchildren, Stephanie Flippin, Christopher Vandiver, Matt Schuerenberg and Chase Collom; and two great-grandchildren.

A sister and a brother also preceded Mrs. Schuerenberg in death

A visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff with a graveside service following at 1 p.m. at the Garden of Memories in Sikeston. The Rev. Tom Bass will officiate.
