Betty J. Cunningham

Betty Jean Cunningham, age 79, of Wappapello, Mo., passed away Friday, Feb. 16, 2018 at her residence.

Betty, the daughter of the late Luther Emerson and Hazel Irene (Waddle) Brown, was born April 26, 1938 in Malden, Mo. She was of the non-denominational faith and was a homemaker. Betty was a Facebook fanatic and enjoyed sewing, cooking, studying her bible and being in the company of her dog Duke.

On Feb. 10, 1957, she married Billy George Cunningham in Malden. He preceded her in death on Dec. 2, 2014.

Survivors include two children, Billy Gene Cunningham and Camilla L. (Larry) Kinsey of Wappapello; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Jimmy and Beth Brown of Omaha, Nebr., Gerald and Dorothy Brown of Lawton, Okla., Mike and Sharon Brown of Dexter, Mo., Ricky Brown of Malden, Levedia Burke of Arnold, Charlotte and John Clifton of Bloomsdale, Sharon Butler of Poplar Bluff, Carolyn Bedwell and Sandra Brown also of Malden.

A sister, Opal Pauline Redus and three brothers, Jerry W. Brown, Melvin L. Brown and Bobby L. Brown also preceded her in death.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Little Brushy Cemetery with Rev. Greg Stevens officiating.
