Betty Jean (Kidder) Gibson

Betty Jean Gibson, 81, of Poplar Bluff, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2012 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Mrs. Gibson was born Nov. 4, 1931 in Flint, MI, and was a graduate of Neelyville High School class of 1949. She was a member of Twin Springs Baptist Church, and was a homemaker. Mrs. Gibson enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters and great grandbabies, reading, and shopping.

On May 12, 1951, she married Ancil L. Gibson in Pocahontas, AR. He preceded her in death on April 25, 1990.

Survivors include her son, Steven Gibson (LaShae) of Poplar Bluff; two granddaughters, Stephanie Gibson and Felecia Crews (Mark), all of Poplar Bluff; and four grandchildren, Madison, Maci, Mayson, and Makynli.

Her parents, John Forest Kidder and Maude Gray Kidder, and two brothers, Carl Kidder and Don Kidder also preceded Mrs. Gibson in death.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the funeral chapel with Rev. Roger Mayo officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
