Betty Jean Inman

June 5, 1933 — December 9, 2015

Betty Jean Inman of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died on Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015 at Mark Twain Caring Center in Poplar Bluff.
Betty was born on June 5, 1933, in Butler County, to Clyde Andrew and Eunice Myra (Rowland) Inman, who both preceded her in death.
For more than 20 years she worked at Doctors Hospital, most of that time in the newborn department. She loved children, her family, her church and her Rebekah Sisters.
She was simply known as "Aunt Betty", not only to her 63 nieces and nephews, but their friends as well. After retiring from Doctors Hospital, she provided childcare for a number of children and those children became her extended family.
So long as her health permitted, she was a longtime active member of Second Baptist Church, where she volunteered in the Nursery and helped with Vacation Bible School.
Betty will be missed by four brothers: Hughey (Sue) Inman and Dewey (Jamie) Inman of Poplar Bluff, Howard Ray (Candy) Inman of Festus, and Donald Clay Inman of Clinton, Miss.; two sister: Ruth Ann Knodell of Poplar Bluff and Mary (Charles) Burris of St. Louis, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at noon Saturday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel with service immediately following at 1 p.m. Pastor Luther Abbott will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunnyslope Addition of City Cemetery.
