Betty Jane Jeffries

Betty Jane Jeffries, 99 of Poplar Bluff, Mo, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2013 at Poplar Bluff Regional Hospital.

Mrs. Jeffries was born on Nov. 23, 1913 in Rogersville, Mo to Scottie and Birdie Williams Fraser. They preceded her in death.

She and Woodrow Jeffries were married in Lancaster, Mo. on December 20,1934. He preceded her in death on October 23,1979.

After attending Kirksville College, Betty taught school and later retired from Mills Iron Supply. She was a member of First Christian Church, and enjoyed spending time with her family, fishing, wildlife and working with the Humane Society.

Survivors include her children: Donna Lenora Picard (Ray) of Irvin, Ca. Nancy Lee Innis (Ralph) of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Judith Ann Coleman (Louis), of Sikeston, Mo., Michael Woodrow Jeffries of Tustin, Ca.; 9 grandchildren; 17great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

There will be a graveside service at 1:30 Thursday, at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Poplar Bluff with Dr. Steven Williams officiating.
