Betty Newsom

Betty Gail Royal Newsom, 66, of Marked Tree, Ark., formerly of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Three Rivers Nursing Center in Marked Tree.

Mrs. Newsom, the daughter of the late Floyd Thomas and Naomi Elizabeth Abshier Royal, was born Dec. 1, 1950 in Qulin, Mo. She was of the Baptist faith and was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Glen Dale Newsom of Corning, Ark.; a daughter, Cindy Royal Wallace of Blytheville, Ark.; two step-daughters, Angie Newsom and Jeanie Bateman; one grandchild; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Barbara Ann Alvarado, Nova Jean Fleishman and Debbie Ann Hunt; five brothers, Floyd Allen Royal, George William Royal, Jerry Dwayne Royal, Aubrey Dale Royal and Phillip Anthony Royal; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A private family graveside burial will be at the Corning City Cemetery at a later date.
