Betty L. Scott

Betty Louise Scott, 63, of Poplar Bluff died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Scott was born May 26, 1945 in Poplar Bluff, and attended Rombauer General Baptist Church. She began her working career in the Butler County Circuit Clerk's office 31 years ago, serving under Howard LeGrand. For the pastfour years Mrs. Scott has served as the Butler County Circuit Clerk. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren, and reading and cooking.

On May 30, 1964 she married Delbert Scott at her mother's home in Poplar Bluff. He survives.

Other survivors include three children, Rhonda Logsdon and her husband David, Barry Scott and his wife Edith and Renee Gordon and her husband Randy, all of Poplar Bluff; her mother, Rosie (Scritchfield) Hale, of Poplar Bluff; four grandchildren, Nakisha Scott, Maura Logsdon, Darby Scott and Alexis Gordon; a great-grandson, Tavian Scott; one sister, Shirley Parker; and two brothers, Bill Hale of Poplar Bluff and David Hale of Pocahontas, Ark.

Her father, Leonard Hale and brother, Carol Hale preceded her in death.

Visitation will begin at 12 noon Tuesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the Chapel, with the Rev. Jim Schremp officiating. Burial will be at the City Cemetery, in Poplar Bluff.
