Betty L. Tibbs

Betty L. Tibbs, 80, of Poplar Bluff passed away Friday, Dec. 4, 2015 at the Mark Twain Caring Center.

Mrs. Tibbs, the daughter of the late Frank and Malissa (Couch) Tennison, was born June 3, 1935 in Oxly, Mo. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and was a homemaker. Mrs. Tibbs enjoyed spending time with her family, crocheting and gardening.

On Dec. 20, 1974, she married Ralph U. Tibbs. He preceded her in death on Feb. 2, 2011.

Survivors include her children: Pam Madden (Mark), Steve Hubbard (Lanell), Dennis Hubbard (Jackie), Mike Hubbard (Becky), and Carla Hodge; step-children; Marion Tibbs (Sharon), Allen Tibbs (Barb), Ron Tibbs (Paula), Darlene Yancy (Roger) and Sheena Carson (Kit); brothers, Malcolm Tennison, Gene Tennison, and Walter Tennison.; and several grandchildren and great- grandchildren.

Mrs. Tibbs was also preceded in death by her sister, Ilene Myers and brothers, Bill Tennison, Frank Tennison, and Lou Tennison.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Glenn Marshall officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
