Billie Joe Adams, 71, of Lehigh Acres, Fla., and former resident of Poplar Bluff died Thursday, Jan. 21, 2010 at his residence.
Mr. Adams was born Sept. 11, 1938 in Doniphan, Mo. He was of the Protestant faith, and was a retired skilled carpenter and painter. Mr. Adams was also a veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and with his friends.
On Sept. 23, 1957 he was married to Evelyn Duvall.
Other survivors include 4 children: Judy K. Brower and Rhonda Dillow both of Palm Coast, Fla. and Janet Lynn Bugner and Dewayne Adams both of Lehigh Acres, Fla.; his mother, Jewell May (Sullivan) Smith of Paducah; 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters: Ruth Ann Egner, Betty Adamson and Sharon K. Boyd all of Paducah; and a brother, Larry Smith of Owensboro, Ky.
Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:00 p.m. Monday, Jan. 25th at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 P.M. Monday in the Chapel with the Rev. Jim Schremp officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at the City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
