Billie M. Ramsey, 89, of Poplar Bluff died Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Ramsey was born Oct. 19, 1919 in Hennessey, Okla. She attended First United Methodist Church in Poplar Bluff. Mrs. Ramsey and her husband were the owners of the Northwold Motel for 20 years. Prior to that they were farmers at Harviell. Mrs. Ramsey enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an avid American History reader and spent much of her time reading.
On March 17, 1939 she married Blan Kenneth ""B.K."" Ramsey. He preceded her in death on July 21, 1978.
Survivors include her sons: James C. Ramsey of Poplar Bluff and Marcus D. Ramsey of Protem, Mo.; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and two brothers: Ross Marion of Poplar Bluff and Gerald Marion of Licking, Mo.
A gathering will begin at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Friday in the Chapel with the Rev. Charles E. Buck officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church, 500 North Main St., Poplar Bluff, MO 63901 or to a charity of one's choice.
