Billy Dale Glass

Billy Dale Glass Sr., 70, of Wappapello died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008 at his residence.

Mr. Glass was born March 11, 1938 in Bernie, Mo. He had retired from General Motors, was a volunteer for the Wappapello Fire Dept., and was a member of the neighborhood watch program. Mr. Glass enjoyed fishing and wood-crafting.

On June 19, 1958 he married Nancy Laura Chaplin, in Tijuana, Mexico. She preceded him in death on Oct. 29, 2008.

Survivors include 5 children: Tommy Ray Glass, of Ellsinore, David Lee Glass, of Puxico, Cheryl Renee Cavenar, of Festus and Billy Dale Glass, Jr. and Elizabeth Raye Glass, both of Wappapello; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Goldie Lee Maylee, of Rolla and Mary Sue Robertson, of St. Louis.

Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009 at the Wappapello Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Wappapello Chapel with the Rev. Arvin Haynes officiating. Graveside services with full military honors will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
