Billy 'Bill' Joe Lawrence

Billy 'Bill' Joe Lawrence, 78, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri passed away peacefully Friday, June 26, 2020, with his wife Susan by his side.

Bill was born May 14,1942,  in Poplar Bluff to Ernest and Ruby Lawrence.  He was the proud owner of Missouri Diesel for over 40 years.  Prior to that he successfully owned Truck Rebuilders in Wyndotte, Michigan.  He also served in the US Air Force.  Bill enjoyed flying his own plane and following the St. Louis Cardinals.  The times he treasured most were being with his family, especially “his buddy” Billy Jr. and his pets Brutus, Brownie and Daisy.

Bill is survived by his wife of 26 years, Susan Lawrence; sons, Billy (Becky) Lawrence and Jimmy Lawrence; a sister Phyllis Mausey; brothers Kenny, David, and Bob; and grandchildren Zachery, Abigail, Darryl, and Lindsy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Darryl, brothers Jackie, Lyman, and Don, great nephew Zachary Roesner, and close friend and neighbor Donald Moore.

A graveside service with full military honors will be held Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at 1:00 pm at Black River Cemetery on JJ highway in Williamsville, Missouri.  The Rev. Sean Warren will officiate.
