Bobby Gene Dicken

Bobby Gene ""Bob"" Dicken, 80, of Poplar Bluff died Monday, May 30, 2011 at his residence.

Mr. Dicken was born Nov. 3, 1930 in Harviell, Mo., and graduated from Poplar Bluff High School. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Poplar Bluff, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in Korea. Mr. Dicken had retired as a conductor and brakeman from Missouri Pacific Railroad as well as Union Pacific Railroad. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

On April 9, 1955, he married Jean Sudduth in Poplar Bluff. She survives.

Other survivors include his children, Jeana Kay Cox and husband John of Lincoln, Mo., Roy Dicken and wife Lisa and Russell Dicken and wife Roberta all of Poplar Bluff and Richard ""Rich"" Dicken and wife Melanie of Newburgh, Ind.; 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

His parents, Roy Virgil and Willa Hughes Dicken, a great-grandson, Gunnar Dicken and two brothers, Bill Dicken and Dale Dicken preceded Mr. Dicken in death.

Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. A graveside service and burial will follow at 11 a.m. at the Dicken Cemetery off F Hwy in Butler County with Chaplain Ernie Rogers officiating.
