Bruce Lynn Chronister

Bruce Lynn Chronister, 56, of Clarkton, Mo., formerly of Poplar Bluff, Mo., stepped into the arms of his Lord and Savior Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Bruce, the son of the late Franklin Glenn and Virginia Esmon Chronister, was born Nov. 17, 1961 in Poplar Bluff. He was of the Protestant faith, and had worked as a carpenter and roofer before becoming disabled. Bruce loved to spend time with his family and enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Survivors include his loving companion of 15 years Sue Short of Clarkton; a son, Joshua Michael (Jessica) Chronister of Kennett; two grandchildren, Madelyn Grace and Wyatt Reed Chronister; a sister Avis Lourance of Poplar Bluff; and three brothers, Eugene “Butch” (Betty) Esmon of Doniphan and Steven D. Esmon of Poplar Bluff and Brian Glenn (Carolyn) Chronister of Ellsinore.

The visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel with the funeral service following at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Jim Schremp will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodlawn section of the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
