Buren Lee, 86, of Benton, Mo., formerly of Sikeston, Mo. and Poplar Bluff died Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Mr. Lee was born July 5, 1925 in Campbell, Mo. He was a member of Unity Baptist Church in Benton, and was a former member of First Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff where he served as a deacon. After 42 years Mr. Lee retired from the Missouri Highway Department where he served as District Supervisor in 16 counties. He enjoyed spending time with his family and doing yard work.
On Dec. 14, 1946, he married Juanita Mae Herndon in Piggott, Ark. She survives.
Other survivors include two children, Janet Lee Kline and husband Sterl of Benton, Mo. and Steven Lee and wife Susan of Columbia, Mo.; and a granddaughter, Rachel Lee Kline also of Benton, Mo.
His parents, Earl and Hazel Northington Lee preceded Mr. Lee in death.
Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Unity Baptist Church in Benton, Mo. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the Church with Rev. Dennis Lowe officiating. Burial will be at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens in Morley, Mo.
