Callie W. (Pyle) Chronister

Callie Wahnetta Chronister, 91, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015 at River Mist Assisted Living Center in Poplar Bluff.

Mrs. Chronister was born Oct. 1, 1923 in Advance, Mo. to the late Joseph M. and Clara E. Wright Pyle. She was of the General Baptist faith, and had retired as a bookkeeper in the automotive industry. Mrs. Chronister enjoyed spending time with her family.

On Dec. 7, 1943, she married Norman L. Chronister in Rombauer. He preceded her in death on Jan. 26, 2001.

Survivors include her daughter, Sonya L. Emery (Terry), of Olathe, Kans.; four grandchildren: Scott Emery, Spencer Emery, Shane Emery and Sabrina Emery; three great-grandchildren: Sean Emery, Josie Emery and Jack Burton; a sister, Alpha J. "Jody" Wiese, of Kearney, Mo.; two nieces: Lori Knox and Pam Heisey; and two nephews: Tim Wiese and Joe Wiese.

An infant son, Norman Lee Chronister; three brothers: Raymond Paul Pyle, William Franklin Pyle and Merril Harold Pyle; and a brother-in-law, Larry Wiese also preceded Mrs. Chronister in death.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the funeral chapel with Rev. Bill Orr officiating. Burial will be at Rombauer Cemetery.
