Carl G. Emde

Carl G. Emde, 76, of Poplar Bluff died Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010 at Westwood Hills Care Center in Poplar Bluff.

Mr. Emde was born Nov. 19, 1933 in Kirkwood, Mo. He was a four-year Veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served in Korea. Mr. Emde was known for his excellent memory, and enjoyed visiting with his friends. He moved to the Lake Wappapello area in 1974 and had lived in Poplar Bluff since 1986.

Survivors include one sister, Alice G. Redmond of Poplar Bluff; and one nephew, Russell G. Redmond and wife Margie of Poplar Bluff.

His parents, Rudolph and Elizabeth Emde, sister, Ruth Trower and brother, Wilbur Emde preceded him in death.

A graveside service with full military honors will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Butler County with Pastor Jim Schremp officiating.
