Carl Strenfel, 83, of Poplar Bluff, died on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at his home on Ten Mile Creek.
Carl was born on March 1, 1932 to Valentine and Gertie (Sneathern) Strenfel in the home that was his lifelong residence. He worked at International Shoe for 13 years. Tri-City Asphalt for 10 years, and operated his own fence company and produce farm for 50 plus years. Carl was a member of Bays Spring Baptist Church where he was also a Deacon. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and being outdoors.
Survivors include his wife Eva Lee Strenfel of the home; two children: Sheri Evans and her husband Daniel and Ed Strenfel and his wife Barbara; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren all of Poplar Bluff; and two brothers: Thomas Strenfel of O'Fallon, Ill. and John Strenfel of Poplar Bluff.
In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by a sister, Rose Martin and a brother, Fred Strenfel.
The visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Sunday at Bays Spring Baptist Church with Pastor Kevin Eudaly officiating. Burial will follow in Bays Spring Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial donation be made to Bays Spring Baptist Church.
