Carol Lee Zadnick passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Carol was born on June 26, 1941, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. On October 1, 1960, she married her high school sweetheart, Tony Zadnick. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church and worked as a legal secretary for the Freidwald, Chadwick, Clark, and Richardson law firm until her retirement. She was an avid bowler and a member of the Poplar Bluff Bowling Hall of Fame. Carol and her husband Tony enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. She loved sports, especially watching her children and grandchildren competing in their respective events.
Mrs. Zadnick was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Alma Clanahan Williams and her sister, Joyce Townsend. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Tony Zadnick; a son, Tony William Zadnick and his wife Laura of Ozark, Missouri; daughters, Cindy Chronister and Debbie Bess, both of Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Mrs. Zadnick was also the proud grandmother of four grandchildren: Brad Chronister, a senior cadet at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado; Brian Chronister, a sophomore at the St. Louis College of Pharmacy in St. Louis, Missouri; Katy and Jodi Zadnick, both honor students in Ozark, Missouri. Mrs. Zadnick is also survived by her brother-in-law, Fred Townsend; two nephews, David and Greg Townsend; and a niece, Lori Callander; along with many cousins and a host of close family and friends.
Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. tonight at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral chapel with the Rev. J. C. Bryant officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
The family has requested that memorials be made to UCAN (United Cancer Assistance Network) at 1419 Maud St., in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
