Carolyn Josephine Deaton

Carolyn Josephine (Sansoucie) Deaton, 89, of Poplar Bluff, MO passed away on May 23, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Dexter, Missouri.

Carolyn was born on December 12, 1935, to Chris and Delta L (Rennison) Sansoucie in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas. She married Charles A Deaton on September 24, 1966, in Poplar Bluff.

Carolyn enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles, and gardening. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Carolyn loved spending time with her family and friends.

Carolyn is survived by her children, Theresa (Pat) Turpin, Grady (Amanda) Deaton, Pam White, and Ronald Deaton; three grandsons, one granddaughter, two great granddaughters, one great great grandson, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Chris and Delta; husband, Charles A Deaton Sr.; stepfather, Gordon Wyatt; one daughter, Sharon Arnold; one son, Charles Deaton Jr., one grandson, Clay Kenneth Hardin; brothers, Lloyd, Dimon, Chris, and Ivan; sisters, Wanda and Delta.

Memorial gathering will be held on June 6, 2025, from 1pm-2pm at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services in Poplar Bluff, MO. Services will immediately follow beginning at 2 pm with Pastor Steve Patterson officiating.  Inurnment will be at Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
