Carolyn Lee Visser

December 24, 1941 — December 14, 2008

Carolyn Lee Visser (Hoyt), daughter of the late Joseph and Dorothy Skinner, was born on Dec. 24, 1941 and went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008 at the age of 66.

Ms. Visser (Hoyt) attended Agee Fellowship Church in Poplar Bluff, Mo. She loved crafts, cooking, fishing, UNC basketball and spending time with her grandchildren.

She spent most of her life in West Michigan and recently moved to Poplar Bluff, Mo full time. She worked 16 years for Hart and Cooley Inc before retiring from the Target department store in Holland, Mi.

Her children wrote. ""Mom lived her life with kindness, generosity and unashamed faith. Though she is gone from our sight, her legacy and life will live on through her family.""

Survivors include five children: Son and daughter-n-law Bruce and Sue Hoyt of Horn Lake, Ms, daughter Deb Pitcher of Saugatuck, Mi, son and daughter-n-law Mike and Tracy Hoyt of McCordsville, In, son and daughter-n-law Rev. Jim and Denise Hoyt of Poplar Bluff, Mo, daughter and son-n-law Melissa and Bob Budhan of Allegan, Mi. Two brothers: Jim and Nicki Skinner of Holland, Mi, Ken and Sue Skinner of Fennville, Mi. 15 Grandchildren and 5 Great-Grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Doug Hoyt and sister, Donna Jean Holton.

Memorials may be made to United Cancer Assistance Network (UCAN) of Poplar Bluff: 2620 N. Westwood Blvd Polar Bluff, Mo 63901.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008 at the Cotrell Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff, Mo. Funeral services will be conducted in Fennville, Mi Friday Dec. 19, 2008 with Ms. Visser's son, Rev. Jim Hoyt officiating.
