Carroll Alva Griffy

Carroll A. Griffy, 78, of Nixa, Mo., formerly of Poplar Bluff, died Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at The Manor Care in Springfield.

Mr. Griffy, son of the late Ralph and Fanny (Siler) Griffy, was born Feb. 26, 1937 in Puxico. He was a former member of Memorial Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff and was a member of North Nixa Baptist Church in Nixa, Mo. Mr. Griffy had retired as a service technician at Swafford's AAMCO Station in Poplar Bluff. He enjoyed spending time with his family, being outdoors, fishing and hunting.

On May 22, 1965, he married Betty Ann Kearbey at Good Hope Methodist Church in Poplar Bluff. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include a daughter, Michelle (Shawn) Boehme of Springfield; two grandchildren: Derrick Allen Boehme and Jordan Michelle Boehme; and two sisters: Margie Mathis of Dexter and Linda Hallmark of Wappapello.

In addition to his parents, three sisters and three brothers also preceded him in death.

The visitation will begin at 9:30 Monday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff with the funeral service following at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Roger Mayo will officiate. Burial will be at Sparkman Cemetery in Butler County.
