Cecelia Katherine Jones

Cecelia Katherine Jones, 90, of Milford, Ind., formerly of Poplar Bluff, Anderson, Ind. and Homosassa, Fla. died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010 at Lakeland Rehab and Healthcare Center in Milford.

Mrs. Jones was born Nov. 24, 1919 in Poplar Bluff. She was of the Catholic faith, and was a graduate of Poplar Bluff High School. During her earlier years she worked as a telephone operator in Poplar Bluff. Mrs. Jones later moved to Anderson, Ind., where she resided for 30 years, and then to Homosassa, Fla., where she resided for 15 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

On July 17, 1945 she was married to Elmo Jones. He preceded her in death on March 22, 2000.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Jennifer Seet and husband Robert of Ninevah, Ind. and Jo Anne Shelby and husband Ted of Deming, NM; 2 sons, Clark Jones and wife Judy of Milford, Ind. and Kent Jones of St. Petersburg, Fla.; 5 grandchildren, Rob Seet and wife Jen, of Greenwood, Ind., Jeff Seet and Greg Seet, both of Nineveh, Ind., Andy Jones and wife Courtney of Indianapolis, Ind. and Katie Jones of Milford, Ind.; 4 great-grandchildren, Corey, Connor, Olivia and Caitlin.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Jones was also preceded by her parents, William and Annie Mae (Carrico) Clark, and 7 brothers and sisters.

A Prayer Service will begin at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26th at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff with a gathering of family and friends to follow until 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father David Coon officiating. The interment of Mrs. Jones ashes will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
