Cecil Clinton Cochran, 90, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. passed away, Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014 at The Manor in Poplar Bluff.
Mr. Cochran was born April 21, 1924 in Gideon, Mo., to the late James Barney and Ella Billington Cochran. He was a member of Cornerstone Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church and had retired as a maintenance and construction worker and grounds keeper. Mr. Cochran proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and tinkering and fixing things
On Sept. 19, 1992, he married the former Virginia Lindsay Rhodes in Coloma, Mich. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include three children: Mansel Cochran (Marianne), Theresa Hoernle (Dave), and Jennifer Rock (Brandon); eight stepchildren: Donnie Rhodes (Mary), Carol Schwenck (John), Barb Birks (Darrell), Faye Bartlemay (Doug), Herschel Davis (Melissa), Terri Self (Tracy), Don Davis, and Doug Davis (Brenda); 33 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents two children, Bill Davis and Penny Phelps, five sisters and six brothers also preceded Mr. Cochran in death.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. A graveside service with full military honors will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo. with Rev. Brian Parkey officiating and Rev. Lou Hauser assisting.
