Charles Eugene ""Pooch"" Bowman, 62, of Poplar Bluff died Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Mr. Bowman was born Feb. 8 1950 in Poplar Bluff. He was formerly employed as a lineman for the City of Poplar Bluff and for REA in Bloomfield, Mo. Mr. Bowman was also a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Vietnam. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, riding 4-wheelers and fishing and boating on Current River and Black River.
On May 12, 1973, he married Kim Clark in Poplar Bluff. She survives.
Other survivors include 2 children: Amy Bowman of Wappapello, Mo. and William ""Bill"" Clark of Van Buren, Mo.; 6 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a sister, Viola Williams and husband Pud of Paragould, Ark.; and 4 brothers, Bob Bowman of Ellsinore, Mo., Jim Bowman of Kentucky, Dean Bowman of Festus, Mo., and Keith Bowman of Poplar Bluff.
His parents, Luther and Louise (Miller) Bowman, son, Joshua Bowman and sister, Wilma Pettit preceded Mr. Bowman in death.
A gathering of family and friends will begin at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. A Memorial Service will follow at 3:30 p.m. in the Chapel with Pastor Austin Montague officiating. The Missouri Military Funeral Honors team will conclude the service with full military honors.
