Charles E. Casinger

August 19, 1925 — April 17, 2009

Charles Euel Casinger, 83, of Poplar Bluff died Friday, April 17, 2009 at his residence.

Mr. Casinger was born Aug. 19, 1925 in Vastus, Mo. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, and had retired as a salesperson for Meek's Building Supplies. Mr. Casinger was also a well known carpenter and helped build many houses in Poplar Bluff and the surrounding areas. He enjoyed reading his Bible and gardening.

On Jan. 1, 1949 he married Darlene Leach in Powhattan, Ark. She survives.

Other survivors include two sons: Charles D. Casinger and wife Evelyn of Poplar Bluff and David R. Casinger and wife Debbie of Ionia, Mo.; grandchildren: Chris Casinger and Kelly Watson and husband Jason, all of Poplar Bluff and Lesley Allen and husband Chad of Kansas City, Mo. and Molly Casinger of Sedalia; great-grandson, Cameron Watson; 3 sisters, Hattie Booten and Sophie Britton, both of Poplar Bluff and Martha Hathaway of St. Charles; a brother, Oscar Casinger and wife Lois of Fairdealing; and sister-in-laws: Juanita Casinger and Thelma Casinger, both of Poplar Bluff.

His parents, Charles T. and Lula (Butler) Casinger and brothers, Tom Casinger, Theodore Casinger and Orville Casinger preceded Mr. Casinger in death.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Chad Wagner officiating. Burial will be at the City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
