Charles Maurice (Pete) Kelley

Charles M. (Pete) Kelley, 76, of Wappapello, MO, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, at Poplar Bluff Regional Hospital.

Mr. Kelley was born Jan. 6, 1937, in Current View, MO to Charles Frank and Ermine Roberts Kelley.

On Jan. 17, 1959, he married Lucinda ""Cindy"" O'Callaghan in Newport, Rhode Island. She survives of the home.

Mr. Kelley was of the Church of Christ faith, and was a Pipe Fitter as well as owner of Kelly's Market in Wappapello. He served in the United States Navy, and was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. and Eagles Lodge. Mr. Kelley was an avid fisherman and enjoyed reading.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his children: Barbara Kelley Nagle (Rusty) of Madison, Ind., and Chris Kelley (Karen) of Cape Girardeau, MO; two grandchildren: Justin Castleberry and Nikki Kelley: two great grandchildren; a brother, Paul Kelley of Wappapello, and a sister, Betty Saunders of Doniphan, MO.

His parents and a sister, Caroldine Bessent preceded Mr. Kelley in death.

A gathering of friends and family will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Wappapello. A Celebration of Life will follow at 3 p.m. with Junior Williams officiating. Full Military Honors will follow at the Chapel. Interment will be at Missouri State Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield.
