Charles ""Shod"" Longbottom, 83, of Poplar Bluff, MO, passed away Friday, October 24, 2014, at The Manor in Poplar Bluff.
Mr. Longbottom, the baby of 9 children, was born November 6, 1930 in Ellsinore, Mo to the late James Elijah and Ida Mae Winds Longbottom. He and Betty L. Bradley were married November 10, 1953 in Poplar Bluff. She preceded him in death on August 16, 2011.
Mr. Longbotton was of the Baptist faith, had served his country during the Korean Conflict with the United States Army and had worked as a truck driver for Complete Auto Transit/Ryder Systems Inc. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, going to Current River and was also an avid Cardinals fan.
Survivors include two daughters: Becky Breeden (Tom) and Lori Martin (Doug); a granddaughter, Mallory Stith (Nick), all of Poplar Bluff; a sister, Louise Horst (Ray), of Maryland; and many nieces and nephews.
A son, Nicholas Longbottom passed away December 21, 2011, and he was also preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
Visitation will be Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday, at the chapel with Rev. Byron Beck officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
