Chuck Lee Nichols

Charles "Chuck" Lee Nichols, 70, of Poplar Bluff, MO, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2026.

Chuck was born on October 12, 1955, to Herman and Evelyn (Strong) Nichols in La Crosse, Wisconsin. He married Marie Rose Meadley on July 08, 1989, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

Chuck was of the Catholic faith. He was most recently a school bus driver for the Poplar Bluff School District for 7 years. Earlier in life he worked at Smiley Container for around 20 years and then drove a truck over the road for another two decades. Chuck was an avid outdoorsman; he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and tending to his yard. Chuck was a selfless and caring man. He was always willing to help others in need when he could. Chuck enjoyed life and tried to find the good in all things. His absence will be felt deeply by those closest to him and he will be missed dearly.

Chuck is survived by his son, Heath (Tamara) Nichols; granddaughter, Ensley Nichols; two sisters, Mary (Paul) Hurd and Lillian Carter; three brothers, Robert, Brian, Everett Nichols; special friend, Martha Gentry; and last but not least, his canine companion Chloe.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Marie Rose Nichols, and sister, Eugenia Nichols.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 07, 2026, from 11:00am-12:00pm at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services. Funeral service will follow beginning at Noon with Pastor Jim Schremp officiating. Burial will take place at the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
