Charles Alexander "Buddy" Shelby, Jr.

Charles Alexander (Buddy) Shelby, Jr., of Poplar Bluff, Mo. died Sunday, Aug. 28, 2016 at his residence.

Mr. Shelby, son of the late Charlie and Velma Richars Shelby, was born Jan. 9, 1930 at Lilbourn, Mo. Buddy was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served during the Korean War. He later started his career in Consumer Finance and retired after 35 years.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Helen Sherman Shelby; two daughters, Lynn (Steve) Walsh of Poplar Bluff, Mo. and Cathy (Jerry) Emmons of Doniphan, Mo.; five grandchildren, Bert Wyatt of Georgia, Kyle Walsh of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Sarah Bloom of Okinawa, Japan and Brian Emmons and Jerry Emmons of Doniphan, Mo.; and five great-grandchildren.

A sister, Sue Shelby LaVielle also preceded Mr. Shelby in death.

At his request, there will be no services.
