Charles Ray Swofford

Charles Ray Swofford, Jr., 49, of Poplar Bluff died Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Swofford was born Jan. 7, 1963, in Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. He was of the Protestant faith, and had previously worked as a drywall and sheet rock installer in home construction. Mr. Swofford enjoyed spending time with his family, watching NASCAR racing, being outdoors and hunting.

Survivors include two children: Jessica Sincup and husband, Michael, and Charles R. Swofford III all of Broseley, Mo.; two grandchildren: Tabitha and Juliet Sincup; and a brother, Jason Swofford of Poplar Bluff.

His parents, Charles Ray Sr. and Alice Faye (Holt) Swofford, and a sister, Terri Dennis preceded Mr. Swofford in death.

Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral chapel with Rev. Gregory Kirk officiating. Burial will be at Nunn Cemetery in Butler County.
