Charlotte Elizabeth Smith, 67, of Ellington, Mo., passed away Friday, Jan. 29, 2016 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center lovingly surrounded by her family. She is free of pain and will be dearly missed.
Mrs. Smith, the daughter of the late James G. and Mary Helen (Birmingham) Fanning, was born Nov. 26, 1948 in Gideon, Mo. She was of the non-denominational faith and had worked for DCAI Home Health Care. Mrs. Smith enjoyed spending time with her family, fishing, camping, reading and going to yard sales.
Survivors include three daughters, Belinda Wilkins and Angela McCabe of St. Louis and Rebecca Wilkins of Ellington; a son, Gilbert Wilkins, Jr. also of Ellington; her companion, Larry Gene Keathley of Ellington; a brother, James Glen Fanning of Grandin; a stepdaughter, Dorothy (Bruce) Way of Barnhart; a stepson, Kenneth (Anette) Smith of St. Louis; nine grandchildren: Franklin Klieber, Pamela Wilkins, Stephanie McCabe, Greg McCabe, Jr., Ashley Wilkins, Alan Wilkins, Alicia Wilkins, Owen Wilkins and Briar Wilkins; and six great grandchildren: Kadence Silva, Alexis Wilkins, Lyric Foggy, Payton Henry, Bryson McCabe and Briella McCabe.
Her husband, Winford Smith, three brothers, Jimmie Lee Fanning, Terry Wayne Fanning and Dannie Ray Fanning and two sisters, Mary Jeanette Shoults and Shirley Ann McCorkle also preceded her in death.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
