Cheri O. Ramsey, 65, of Poplar Bluff passed away, Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
Mrs. Ramsey was born Dec. 30, 1946 in Cape Girardeau, Mo. to the late Raymond F. and Leila (Rice) Oldsen. Growing up in Deering, Mo. she was a graduate of Deering High School, and later received her Masters Degree from Southeast Missouri State University. Mrs. Ramsey was a member of First United Methodist Church in Poplar Bluff, and was an instructor of Humanities, Speech and Theatre at Three River College for many years, where she also coached cheerleading for 20 years. Her life revolved around her family, especially her grandchildren.
On Dec. 31, 1969, she married James C. Ramsey II at Grace United Methodist Church in Poplar Bluff. He survives.
Other survivors include her son, James C. Ramsey III of Poplar Bluff; three grandchildren, Sterling Ramsey, Christian Ramsey and Savannah Ramsey; a sister, Kathryn O. Wright, of Cape Girardeau; and two brothers, Raymond R. Oldsen (Barbara), of Dudley, Mo., and Phillip A. Oldsen (Connie), of Kennett, Mo.; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A gathering of family, friends and acquaintances will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church with a Memorial Service following at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. David Stewart officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family have requested that memorials be made to American Cancer Society, 4207 Lindell Blvd., Ste 2, St. Louis, MO 63108, or American Liver Foundation, 16 Hampton Village Plaza, St. Louis, MO 63109.
