Christa L. Keefer

Christa Louisa Keefer, 96, of Doniphan, died December 19, 2008 at her residence. Mrs. Keefer was born June 20, 1912 in Paxton, Nebr., to the late Hugh Albert and Christa Mae (Jackson) Gifford. She retired at 80 years of age as a manager and care giver at a group home. Mrs. Keefer was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of LDS. She enjoyed crocheting, making Christmas Gifts and was a seamstress.

Surviving are two children, son Larry Evans and wife Jean, daughter Maxine Wallar and husband David, all of Doniphan; nine grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and 30 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Keefer was preceded in death by her two husbands, Clifford Evans in 1965 and Nelson Keefer in 1995; and one son Michael Evans.

Visitation will be 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Monday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. A graveside service and burial will be held later at Crown Hill Cemetery in Denver, Colorado.
