Christine Wisong, 79, of Poplar Bluff died Friday, July 8, 2011 at her residence.
Mrs. Wisong was born Aug. 18, 1931 in Bono, Ark. She was a homemaker, and had previously worked at a plastic ball factory in Texas. Mrs. Wisong enjoyed spending time with her family, watching western movies and NASCAR racing, putting puzzles together and working crossword puzzles.
In 1951, she married Jake Wisong in Piggott, Ark. He preceded her in death in 1988.
Survivors include five children, Pauletta Vickery and husband Charles of Poplar Bluff, Delpha Johnson of Kansas City, Mo., Susan Perry of Felicity, Ohio, John Carter of New York City, NY and William Carter and wife Tammy of Burleson, Tex.; nine grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Al Hancock of Kansas City, Mo. and Arvill Hancock of Doniphan, Mo.
Her parents, Fred E. and Hazel (Ballard) Hancock also preceded her in death.
A Celebration of Life service will begin at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Church of Christ of Latter Day Saints, at 2414 Katy Lane in Poplar Bluff with Bishop Paul Oesterreicher officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
Cotrell Funeral Service in Poplar Bluff is in charge of arrangements.
