Clara Elizabeth ""Betty"" Johnson, of Poplar Bluff died Saturday, May 22, 2010 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Johnson was born December 12, 1925, at Harviell, Missouri. She graduated from Neelyville High School and attended Bluff City Business College. Mrs. Johnson was a member of the First Christian Church, and had worked many years as a file clerk and teller at the Bank of Poplar Bluff. She enjoyed being a wife and mother and spending time with her family.
On December 24, 1945, she was married to Cecil Robert ""Cobb"" Johnson. He preceded her in death on March 6, 1998.
Survivors include one daughter, Susanne Johnson of Dallas, Tex.; four sons, William Franklin ""Bill"" Johnson and his wife Lois Ann of Great Bend, Kans.; John Robert Johnson and his wife Janice of Richmond, Mo., David Allen Johnson and his wife Brenda of Colcord, Okla., and James Boyd Johnson of Poplar Bluff; five grandchildren, Eric Johnson and his wife Audrey, Matthew Johnson and his wife Ashley, Christopher Johnson, Joshua Johnson and his wife Morgan, and Samuel Johnson; six great-grandchildren, Derek, Courtney, Hollis, Amelia, Brady and Riley; and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents, Asa Franklin and Nora Adeline (Ponder) Boyd, son, Phillip Mark Johnson, and sisters, Mary Irene Mauk and Katherine Emerson preceded her in death.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. A graveside service will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Woodlawn Cemetery in Poplar Bluff with her children, the Rev. Bill Johnson, the Rev. John Johnson, Dr. Susanne Johnson and David Johnson officiating.
