Clarence Thomas Redus, 84, of Wappapello, Mo., passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter, Mo.
Mr. Redus, the son of the late Everett Thomas and Nancy Ann Arnold Redus, was born May 7, 1931 in Gatewood, Mo. He was of the Baptist faith and had retired as a metal fabricator for Heintz Steel Manufacturing Company in St. Louis. In prior years, Mr. Redus served as a fireman at the Malden Airbase. He loved to spend time with his family and enjoyed fishing and playing the guitar and harmonica.
In 1949, he married the former Opal Brown in Pocahontas, Ark. She preceded him in death in 2004.
Survivors include four children: Marilyn (David) Banks of Wright City, Mo., Joanna (James) Keeler of St. Charles, Mo., Steve (Kimy) Redus of Belle, Mo. and Dirke (Barb) Redus of Jefferson City, Mo.; a dear special friend and caretaker, Ashley Wilkinson of Wappapello;18 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three sisters; and two brothers.
A son, Larry Redus also preceded Mr. Redus in death.
The visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Wappapello. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Wappapello Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jim Schremp officiating. A graveside service and burial will follow at 2 p.m. at New Home Cemetery in Gatewood, Mo.
