Claude Sylvan Henson, 89, of Piedmont died Friday, Jan. 9, 2009 at the Missouri State Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
Mr. Henson was born Nov. 1, 1919 in Ellington, Mo. He was of the Baptist faith, and had retired from Missouri Pacific Railroad in St. Louis. Mr. Henson was a veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his children: Ronnie Henson, James Henson and Linda LaPlant all of Piedmont, Mary Stewart of Poplar Bluff and Don Henson of Bernie; 17 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Melba Giordano of Piedmont; and brother James ""Pete"" Henson, of Algiers, Mich.
Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Cotrell Funeral Service in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Montgomery officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
